A fascinating panoramic view from the summit over the Ötztal and the romantic Pollestal with the glaciated Hohe Geige in Tyrol can be enjoyed by climbing the Grieskogel (2,911 m).

Starting from Hochsölden, the summit can be reached in about 2:30 hours through moderately difficult alpine terrain.

This promising summit hike begins in Hochsölden and first follows the gravel path towards the Rotkogl mountain station. Now it goes on a more narrow path further north. First through alpine and later also over gravelly terrain, the last part before the summit overcomes a small rock step (here you are secured with steel ropes).

In addition to the wonderful view from the Grieskogel summit (2,911 m) to the Hohe Geige or the Daunkögel, with a little luck, you sometimes can also spot some wildlife in the Pollestal.

This tour has several options from the starting point:

Option 1: from Hochsölden (2,070 m) it is about 2:30 h to the summit,

Option 2: if you use the Rotkogl gondola, it is 1:45 hours,

Option 3: for the sporty people all the way from Sölden (1,370 m) you have to plan a 4:30 h ascent.
